By downloading or using CitzCan (the "App"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
The App is provided by AppTune LLC ("we", "us"). It helps you prepare for the Canadian citizenship test with lessons and practice questions based on the official study guide. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle data.
Not an official government service
CitzCan is an independent study aid. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Government of Canada or Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
- Using the App does not apply for citizenship, book a test, or affect your application in any way.
- Questions in the App are written by us to practise the guide's facts. They are not the questions on the real test.
- The application process, test format, and requirements can change. Always check Canada.ca for the latest official information.
Study guide and accuracy
Lessons follow Discover Canada: The Rights and Responsibilities of Citizenship, published by IRCC, which remains subject to Crown copyright. We work to keep the content accurate but do not warrant that it is complete, current, or free of errors.
Acceptable use
You may use the App for personal, non-commercial study. You agree not to:
- Copy, resell, or republish the App's lessons or questions as your own.
- Reverse engineer the App except where the law allows it.
- Use the App in violation of any law.
Intellectual property
The App's design, code, branding, lessons, and questions belong to us, except for material from the guide and other sources, which remains the property of its owners. These Terms grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable license to use the App on devices you own or control, subject to the Apple App Store and Google Play terms that apply to your download.
Disclaimer of warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT USING IT WILL LEAD TO ANY RESULT ON THE CITIZENSHIP TEST.
Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR RELIANCE ON THE APP, INCLUDING A FAILED TEST, A DELAYED OR REFUSED APPLICATION, OR LOST PROGRESS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP, OR USD 50 IF YOU PAID NOTHING. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you. Nothing here limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law.
Termination
You can stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may change, suspend, or discontinue the App or any feature at any time without notice.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The district court with jurisdiction over our head office at the time a dispute arises will have exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance, unless mandatory law in your country of residence says otherwise.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms by posting a new version on this page and updating the effective date. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept it.
